Course Title:
Effective Leadership Communication
Instructor: Lynn Dessert
Leadership Breakthrough, Inc.
Course Description:
The four-hour base program provides the building blocks for understanding how individuals think differently when trying to communicate with individuals and in teams. The course uses the Herrmann Brain Dominance Indicator (HBDI), which is a physiologically based model for explaining cognitive differences in people. Cognitive differences are the varying approaches we use in perceiving and assimilating information when we look at learning styles, problem solving, decision-making and communication. Understanding our own preferences and differences enables the supervisor to approach people more proactively. Each person will take an assessment and receive individual and group profiles, if applicable from a certified instructor.
Methodology:
HBDI provides the basis for a common language for communicating with one another which transcends cultural differences. Individuals will learn about how their thinking preferences and blind spots may affect communicating effectively with others. This assessment will identify if stress situations produce different behaviors, which may lead to dysfunctional individual or team results. The group profile option requires participants to share their profiles with one another.
